Briefly describe the progressive
discipline system.
ANSWER
Progressive
discipline ties reprimand to the severity of the employee’s infractions.
Penalties for misbehavior vary according to the significance of the problem. A
progressive discipline system takes into consideration such things as:
•        The seriousness of the problem
•        How frequently it has occurred
•        How long it lasts
•        Past experiences in dealing with the
person who has caused the problem
The goal is to achieve compliance with
organizational expectations through the least extreme reprimand possible.
